DMA’S are back, and for the first time they’re backed by a major label.

The Australian trio, purveyors of a sound that resonates with fans of ‘90s Britpop, will drop a self-titled set this August through a new global deal with Wonderlick Entertainment partnering with Sony Music Australia and RCA UK.

Their fifth studio album, DMA’S is due out Aug. 7 and will house the previously released jangly cut “My Baby’s Place” and the anthemic “Heatin Park, which dropped this week with an official music video.

DMA’S was written and recorded in the act’s studio in Glebe, Sydney, and Los Angeles, and is said to showcase “the evolution of their signature anthemic sound with fresh sonic textures,” a statement reads.

The band members (Tommy O’Dell, Matt Mason and Johnny Took) co-produce most of the record with Grammy Award-nominated producer Lach Bostock (Mansionair), and with help from Jimi Somewhere and Styalz Fuego.

DMA’S have accumulated more than 500 million streams, nabbed an ARIA Award in 2023 for best group, and in 2023 came out on top of triple j’s inaugural Hottest 100 “Live A Version” countdown with their cover of Cher’s ‘90s dance hit “Believe.” All four of their studio albums have crashed the top 10 on the ARIA Chart, through long-time former label home I Oh You, part of the Mushroom Group.

It’s in the United Kingdom, however, where DMA’S have found their spiritual home. The band’s previous two studio albums, How Many Dreams (No. 3 in 2023), and The Glow (No. 4 in 2020) both cracked the top 10 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart. There, each DMA’S album has charted higher than the last.

DMA’S will support the album in their homeland with a newly-announced East Coast tour, which gets underway Nov. 27 at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, followed by a concert at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens on Nov. 28, part of the Live at the Gardens series, and wrap up with a hometown show at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Dec. 3. Billie Eilish loves her some Rihanna. For Elle’s Ask Me Anything series accompanying her cover story on Tuesday (April 28), the Grammy-winning singer attempted to manifest a brand new album from Rih.

Eilish echoed the Navy’s sentiment when it comes to R9 while answering what three songs she’s got in heavy rotation at the moment.

“‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ by Billie Holiday, ‘Caribbean Blue’ by Enya [and] ‘Twilight’ by Elliott Smith. If Rihanna ever f—ng makes R9, then I’m excited for that,” she emphatically added.

Rihanna’s last album arrived with 2016’s Anti, which spent two weeks atop the Billboard 200. There hasn’t been much movement on the R9 front in recent months. However, back in February, the superstar posted a video montage to social media, which saw Rih spending hours at the studio during a recent overnight trip.

For those holding out hope, there’s still a possibility for a Rihanna and Eilish link-up. RiRi named Billie Eilish as a dream collaborator during a 2024 interview at a Fenty x Puma event.

“If I could only do a song with Billie Eilish. She’s so good,” she said.

The Oscar-winning singer reacted in disbelief after hearing Rihanna’s kind words. “What in the absolute f–k. oh my god,” she wrote to her IG Story. “what the f–k.”

Eilish expanded on Rihanna’s shout-out in a cover story for Complex in December 2024, where she hailed RiRi as her “idol” and the “complete dream collab.”

“If I could only do a song with Billie Eilish, she’s so good,” she said at the time. “I’ve never met Rihanna. She’s literally my idol. She’s the greatest of all time. She’s my complete dream collab.”

Rihanna has her hands full with her three children at the moment, caring for sons RZA and Riot and daughter Rocki.

When she gets some time, perhaps she can sneak away to check out Billie Eilish’s upcoming concert film — which Eilish co-directed with decorated filmmaker James Cameron — Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) when it comes to U.S. theaters on May 8.

Kacey Musgraves is teaming up with musicians from her home state of Texas on a trio of upcoming album release shows, with the country star announcing Tuesday (April 28) that she’ll be joined by The Mariachi Brothers — aka the three boys who were detained by ICE earlier this year despite previously performing on Capitol Hill — on the outing.

The shows will take place at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas, on May 3, 4 and 5, kicking off two days after Musgraves’ new LP Middle of Nowhere is set to drop. The Grammy winner got the word out by simply sharing a poster for the event on Instagram reading, “Kacey Musgraves … with special guests The Mariachi Brothers.”

Below that, the names of McAllen residents Antonio, Caleb and Joshua Gámez-Cuéllar — the sons of Gámez Martínez and Emma Guadalupe Cuéllar López — are displayed. The whole family was arrested by ICE and detained in Texas for about two weeks before they were released in March amid growing unrest over the Donald Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, which has included mass deportations and widely protested raids across the country.

Antonio, who is 18, is an award-winning mariachi trumpeter. His band with 14-year-old Caleb and 12-year-old Joshua played on Capitol Hill last year at the invitation of Rep. Monica De La Cruz, a Republican congresswoman who has been a vocal supporter of the twice-impeached president and his immigration policies. When the brothers and their parents were arrested, however, she called for their release and described them as “valued members of the community.”

Like dozens of other musicians, Musgraves has previously spoken out against ICE. In June 2025, she wrote on X, “If protesters can’t wear masks ICE shouldn’t be able to either.”

Arriving Friday (May 1), Middle of Nowhere will mark her sixth studio album and follow up 2024’s Deeper Well, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The project features collaborations with Miranda Lambert and Willie Nelson. So far, fans have only heard two tracks: lead single “Dry Spell” and the title track.

With Offset and Quavo on better terms, there appears to still be hope for a Migos reunion.

Quavo took to his Instagram Story on Monday (April 27), laying out plans for his next creative endeavors, which include a posthumous TakeOff album, another joint album with his late nephew, who was killed in 2022, and then he left room for what appears to be a possible Migos project.

“Warriors Never fold. Jobs Not Finished. TAKEOFF ALBUM. UNC N PHEW 2. LAST ????? ALBUM. REAL MIGO BLOOD RUN IN MY VIENS!!! AINT NO NEW CHAPTER JUST THE NEXT ONE,” Huncho wrote alongside a photo of himself with TakeOff.

Offset followed up with a post of his own to his Instagram Story a few hours later, which included a photo of the ATL trio. “On dat,” he wrote.

Migos have four studio albums to date, with the most recent arriving in 2021 with Culture III, which was billed as the final installment from the Atlanta group. The LP debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 130,000 total album units earned.

TakeOff (born Kirshnik Khari Ball) was shot and killed during a Halloween party he attended at 810 Billiards & Bowling in downtown Houston with Quavo on Nov. 1, 2022.

Just a few weeks before TakeOff’s death, Quavo and Take teamed up to release their first joint project with Only Built for Infinity Links in October 2022, which reached the Billboard 200’s top 10 (No. 7).

During a 2023 interview, Quavo teased that TakeOff had hundreds of songs in the stash that could be used down the line. “We’ve got a lot of songs,” he said. “In this phone alone, it’s 150 songs. Every phone probably has 350 songs. He’s got songs I never heard, ‘I’m like, bro, ‘Why you never played me this?’”

Quavo released a posthumous collaboration with TakeOff in 2025, which saw the uncle and nephew combination join forces for “Dope Boy Phone.”

As for Offset, he’s currently recovering from being shot outside the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida, earlier in April. The “Ric Flair Drip” rapper returned to the stage days after the shooting for a performance at the University of Arkansas on April 11.

Billboard has reached out to reps for Quavo and Offset for comment.

Megan Thee Stallion‘s final curtain call is coming a bit earlier than expected.

The rapper announced via Instagram on Monday (April 27) that she’ll be departing the cast of Broadway’s Moulin Rouge! The Musical after her performance on Friday. She was originally scheduled to perform in the show through May 17.

“Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1,” Megan said in her caption alongside photos of herself meeting fans at the stage door after performances and posing with castmates and special guests. “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!”

She continued by sharing her gratitude for the cast and crew of the Broadway show for “[making] the experience so meaningful” and commending them on their dedication and work ethic. She concludes by thanking her fans for seeing the show.

“And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL See you soon,” Megan writes.

Megan made her Broadway debut as Zidler in Moulin Rouge on TKTK, the first woman to every play the role in a production of the show. News of her early departure comes on the heels of her breakup with Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson. On Saturday (April 25), Megan took to her Instagram Story to share that she and Thompson, whom she dated for a little under a year, broke up due to his infidelity.

“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” the three-time Grammy winner wrote. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????”

In a statement to Billboard afterward, Megan confirmed that she ended things with Thompson, citing “Trust, fidelity and respect” as “non-negotiable for [her] in a relationship.”

“I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” Megan concluded in her statement on the breakup.

Lightning might not strike twice, but Zach Bryan will.

The country star had to delay and shorten his Saturday (April 25) show in Nebraska due to inclement weather. Prior to the start of the performance, Bryan took to X to let his fans know that the show would start later than originally intended, writing, “tour in the spring they said, it’ll be fun they said.”

Doors to the venue opened four hours after Bryan’s original post, and his opening act, Kings of Leon, did not take the stage. Unfortunately, the rough weather continued with lightning strikes hitting overhead, and Bryan had to get offstage earlier than planned.

Following the shortened show, Bryan posted a setlist to X the following day, apologizing to fans and letting them know that only the final six songs were cut. A few fans were not pleased with Bryan’s actions or follow-up post, with one person demanding partial refunds be delivered to fans at the show.

“I know a lot of this was out of your control but we got half a show. Very disappointing,” one fan replied to Bryan’s apology post. Bryan responded to the fan with his thoughts on her ask.

“Karen ahhhh tweet,” Bryan replied, to the dismay of another fan.

“What a scum response to a fan who probably waited all night to see you and the opening artists,” responded the next angry fan. “I paid over a thousand dollars to see this show and waited in my car for over 4 hours. Minimal communication by the stadium and zach bryan himself. Ridiculous.”

Bryan once again replied, relying on a line that he already knew worked: “Karen ahhh tweet.”

The country star did have some support in the X comments, with one fan replying: “They are acting like it was in your control, great show brother!” Bryan agreed with the commenter, sharing a photo of the scary weather and writing, “There were f—n lighting bolts?? Above?? Our?? Heads??”

Bryan’s next performance is set for Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi, on Saturday night.

January 2026 started off with a cold, hard fact: Death is inevitable.

The first major musician death to make the news this year was that of Jim McBride, the Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame artist known for penning country hits alongside Alan Jackson; he died days into the new year on Jan. 6 at age 78. Among his most known songs that he collabed with the country star on were “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow,”  “Someday,” “That’s All I Need to Know,” “(Who Says) You Can’t Have It All” and “Chattahoochee,” with the last song peaking at No. 48 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1993.

Days later, on Jan. 10, Colombian singer-songwriter Yeison Jiménez passed away in a plane crash that took the lives of six people. He was 34. Deadheads were stunned the same day when a statement on Bob Weir’s Instagram account announced that the Grateful Dead founding member had died at 78 after beating lung cancer, but had “succumbed to underlying lung issues.”

Another unexpected death of a celebrated artist was announced before the new year was even two weeks old. Grammy-nominated musician John Forté, who is known for his work with the Fugees, was found dead at age 50 in his Massachusetts home on Jan. 12. Fugees singer Lauryn Hill paid tribute to her late collaborator days later, writing on Instagram, “This loss is unexpected and surreal and my heart aches… for his family, for his wife, for his children, for his friends, and for all of us who were blessed to know him.”

Then on Feb. 25, hours after the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame revealed that the Wu-Tang Clan had received its first nomination for induction, the iconic hip-hop group confirmed that co-founder Oliver “Power” Grant had died at age 52. And just two days later, legendary singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka’s family announced that the musician behind hits such as “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” had died at 86.

Though the year is still young, Billboard remembers the musicians who have passed so far in 2026.

Chris Brown is now a dad of four. The two-time Grammy-winning R&B superstar has welcomed his first child with influencer Jada Wallace.

On Sunday, Wallace shared a three-slide carousel to her official Instagram page, beginning with two snaps flaunting her pregnant belly and a third picture of the duo’s newborn infant. “Purest love,” she captioned the photoset, with Breezy writing, “Taurus Gang” in the comments section. Given that Brown’s birthday is on May 5, he and his newest addition indeed share an astrological sign.

Though the name of Brown’s new baby boy is still unconfirmed, the “With You” singer’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, confirmed the newborn’s sex under Wallace’s post, writing, “Congratulations!!! He’s just perfect! Sending love always!” Brown boasts three older children from separate relationships, including daughter Royalty, 11, with Nia Guzman; son Aeko, 6, with Ammika Harris; and daughter Lovely, 4, with Diamond Brown.

Breezy’s family expansion comes just before the arrival of his new B.R.O.W.N. album next week (May 8). “Obvious,” the set’s latest single, has already reached No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Brown’s 122nd career entry on the all-genre ranking. In June, he’ll join forces with fellow R&B icon Usher for their joint Raymond & Brown (R&B) Tour. The all-stadium trek will commence at Empower Field in Denver, Colo., on June 26 and visit major North American cities like New York, Toronto and Houston, before concluding with two dates at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. (Dec. 11-12).

Brown is coming off last year’s blockbuster Breezy Bowl XX Tour, which earned $295.5 million and sold just 1.983 million tickets across 49 North American and European shows, according to Billboard Boxscore.

On Sunday, before Wallace announced the arrival of their baby boy, Brown addressed critics of his and Usher’s upcoming tour via his Instagram Story, writing, “I’m scrolling through Insta and TikTok and I come across rage bait pages and or these fake woke, stand-up-for-nothing pages bashing people for [wanting] to come have a good time. The dudes hating, I can understand that (thinking we gone steal ya girl and s–t). BUT THE KARENS, and the self-hating h—s be making me LAUGH. I CAN’T WAIT TO RUB THIS S–T IN YALL FACE.”
