“Hit the Wall,” a new song from Gracie Abrams, is coming soon. The track is scheduled for release at 2 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Thursday, May 14, Abrams revealed in an announcement posted on social media at the start of the weekend.
“‘Hit the Wall,’” Abrams wrote on Instagram on Friday (May 1), disclosing its title. “My new song is out everywhere on May 14th at 5pm PST. I love it with everything I have. – DFH.”
The news was unveiled with single art that shows the singer-songwriter standing directly in front of wild flames. The fiery image obscures the artist, who’s mostly pictured as a shadowy silhouette.
“DFH” is presumed to be an acronym for Abrams’ next album, which would be her third full-length studio release. Her debut set, Good Riddance, was released on Interscope in 2023, followed by her sophomore album, 2024’s The Secret of Us. Abrams earned a top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the first time with The Secret of Us, which debuted at No. 2.
Last month brought a new music snippet that cut off just as the pop singer’s vocals were about to begin. Abrams seemed to be teasing an upcoming project in the Instagram clip, though no details were given.
Prior to that there were in-studio snapshots with producer Aaron Dessner — plus pictures of a journal adorned with “DFH” stickers,” a “3” sticker and a sticker of a witch — on Instagram.
In Abrams’ cover story interview with Billboard last year, she said, “Aaron and I are catching each other in these little pockets between hectic times. Every day that I live with the music, things start to become a little clearer. There’s something we’re starting to crack that is making both of us feel energized.” She was on the road for her Secret of Us Tour through the end of the summer 2025.

A suspect has been taken into custody after shots were fired near Chris Brown’s home in Los Angeles.
On Friday (May 1), police arrested a man who allegedly fired a CO2-style handgun at a woman’s vehicle on a street outside the R&B star’s house in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Tarzana, according to TMZ.
Los Angeles Police Department officers reportedly responded around 4 p.m. on Friday after receiving a call from a woman reporting a possible shooting. She described the suspect as a Black male in his mid-thirties who allegedly fired at her car.
When officers arrived, they interviewed both parties. The male suspect claimed the woman had refused to leave the area, leading to an argument. He further alleged the situation escalated after the woman drove over his foot, prompting him to fire shots at her vehicle, TMZ reports.
No injuries were reported, and the woman was not transported to a hospital.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Markeith Cungious, was arrested at the scene, according to KTLA. He was booked on suspicion of discharging a weapon and possession of a weapon in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon case.
Law enforcement reportedly clarified that the weapon involved was not a traditional firearm. The investigation remains ongoing.
It is currently unclear whether Brown was home at the time of the incident or whether he has any connection to the individuals involved. Billboard has reached out to the artist’s representatives for comment.
Brown has been teasing his new album, Brown, which is scheduled for release on May 8. The singer is also gearing up for his upcoming joint stadium tour with Usher, set to launch June 26 at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High.
Charli xcx is not releasing a rock album any time soon, though it was assumed she was when it was reported she had rock music in the works in last month’s issue of British Vogue.
On Friday (May 1), Charli posted previously unseen studio footage on Instagram. The video contains a teaser of an unreleased song recorded in October 2025 at Rue Boyer Studios in Paris.
“It would be cool if we had a song that was called ‘Rock Music,’” she’s seen saying in a brainstorming session, which cuts to scenes of her recording vocals.
“a video of me making a song called ‘rock music’ that is not actually rock music which is funny because i never said i was making a rock album. love you xx,” she captioned the clip Friday on Instagram.
The song does feature guitar, but leans more hyper-pop in production. Lyrics on Charli’s notes app flash by at one point in the reel. They read: “Heritage/ Me, me and my friends/ We go out/ We take pictures/ We make stuff together/ We sometimes cry/ We kiss each other, incestuous vibes/ I knew you’d like that/ Yeah we’re so inspired/ Basically all of the time/ Never stop/ ‘Coz we’re on to the next/ I think the dancefloor is dead/ So now we’re making rock music.”
What Charli herself was actually quoted as saying in that British Vogue cover story, in regards to rock music, was: “What’s interesting for me is to bend the possibilities of what my perspective on that could be.”
She also noted then that rehashing the dance-world Brat built for her followup to the hit album “would have felt really hard, really sad.”
That article’s writer accompanied Charli in February to a West London studio — when her upcoming album was not yet finished, and where she held a listening session reported on for the story — to hear the song that is now known to be “Rock Music.” The only lyric of the song to make it to print: “I think the dance floor is dead, now we’re making rock music.”
At the time, Charli did comment on putting guitar on the album. “For me, it’s fun to flip the form,” she said. “We know there’s gonna be people who are bothered by it, but that’s fine.”
In that interview Charli also revealed that her upcoming album “is commenting on how I interact with the joint main love of my life outside of George [Daniel, her husband]” — her other love being creating art — “and what would happen if that was taken from me. How I would have no purpose, and how for good or bad, art does provide me with purpose in my life.”
Brat peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in 2024, marking Charli’s highest position on the all-genre album chart to date.
Since then, she’s worked on an album alongside Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights adaptation, which arrived in February. The soundtrack reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and debuted at No. 1 on the Soundtracks chart.

Post Malone has postponed the start of his 2026 “BIG ASS Stadium Tour” and canceled several upcoming dates outright. In a statement shared to social media on Friday evening, Malone attributed the decision to needing more time to finish his next project. “I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and…

Post Malone has pushed back the opening stretch of his Big Ass Stadium Tour with Jelly Roll, canceling the first several dates as he works to complete his upcoming album.
In a message shared with fans, Malone said the decision came after reassessing the timeline between his live schedule and recording commitments.
“Looking at the upcoming schedule… I came to the realization that what we’re trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up,” he wrote, adding that he needed additional time to finish new music.
“The truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
The postponement affects the first six dates of the Live Nation-produced tour, which had been scheduled to begin May 13 in El Paso, Texas, with additional stops in Waco, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Tampa and Oxford, Mississippi. The tour is now expected to launch June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina, following a roughly three-week delay.
The artist has been teasing a new project, reportedly titled The Eternal Buzz, though no release date has been confirmed. He indicated the album remains unfinished, despite earlier speculation that it was close to completion.
“That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all. That THAT being said, we been making some badass s— for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again.”
The delay comes as Malone looks to follow up a period of sustained commercial success. His 2023 album Austin debuted in the top 5 of the Billboard 200, while earlier releases such as Hollywood’s Bleeding produced multiple chart-topping singles, including “Circles,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Big Ass Stadium Tour marks a continuation of Malone’s recent pivot toward country and roots-influenced sounds, a direction that has broadened his audience in recent years. His collaboration with Jelly Roll — whose own rise has been driven by a blend of country, rock and hip-hop — reflects that crossover appeal.
His most recent album, F-1 Trillion, included the Country Airplay No. 1 “Pour Me a Drink” and the Billboard Hot 100-topping “I Had Some Help.” He has since teased a follow-up country project, telling Billboard last year that more music was in the works and more recently hinting at a possible title — The Eternal Buzz — on social media.
Barry Manilow has postponed his May Las Vegas residency dates as he continues to recover from lung cancer surgery, though the 82-year-old says he is making great progress and expects to return to the Westgate stage in July.
In an Instagram Story posted Friday (May 1), Manilow opened with, “Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I’m making great progress and look great! All the training and exercising I’ve put in is paying off. He did say, however, that I’m not quite ready for Vegas. This means I won’t be able to return for our May shows at Westgate Las Vegas.”
He also confirmed he will be ready for his June arena shows in the U.K. “The Westgate Las Vegas is my home away from home and I’ll see you all in July,” he said.
The May postponement is the latest in a series of delays since Manilow revealed his Stage 1 lung cancer diagnosis in December 2025. He underwent surgery to remove a cancerous spot from his left lung in late December and has not performed since.
The singer’s February Las Vegas residency dates were the first to be pushed back, followed by his arena tour launch dates from late February through March, and then his April arena shows — each time on his doctor’s advice that his body needed more time to recover.
Despite the setbacks, Manilow has remained determined to return to the stage. His Las Vegas residency at Westgate is scheduled to run through December 2026, and his farewell arena tour — billed as The Last Concerts — has rescheduled dates still on the books.
Named the No. 1 Adult Contemporary Artist of all time by Billboard, Manilow has sold more than 85 million albums worldwide and scored 13 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart across a career spanning more than five decades. He is also a Grammy, Tony and Emmy Award winner and a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee.
In March, his new single “Once Before I Go” became a top 10 hit on the Adult Contemporary chart, making him the only artist in history to score an Adult Contemporary hit in six consecutive decades — a run stretching from the 1970s through the 2020s. His new album What a Time — his first of new material in nearly 15 years — is due June 5.
After getting in a spicy altercation at McDonald’s in April, Ice Spice is showing her allegiance to another fast-food chain. The Bronx native starred in a new Wendy’s ad promoting the company’s sizzling chicken sandwich on Friday (May 1).
“I heard Wendy’s upgraded their OG spicy chicken sandwich,” she says in the clip. “New spicy?!”
The 26-year-old drops her Ice Spice moniker to become “Ice Spicy,” and she’s got an icy chain to match the new alias. The “Deli” rapper even got some fresh ink to commemorate the branding makeover, while the thumping production of her “Thootie” single provides the soundtrack.
“New upgraded spicy chicken, only at Wendy’s,” she continues to close the clip. “Spice recognize spice.”
Members of the “Spice Cabinet” seemed to approve of the partnership. “The collab we needed, now you see how McDonald’s don’t got anybody? Wendy’s is the best to ever do it,” one fan wrote to X.
Last month, Ice Spice had some fun with her viral altercation at McDonald’s, which saw her joke that “this wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s” on X.
The Bronx rapper was involved in a physical confrontation in mid-April at a Hollywood McDonald’s when she was slapped in an “unprovoked attack” without security present, according to her attorney Bradford Cohen.
Footage of the incident, which was first posted by TMZ on April 17, found Ice Spice and a friend being approached by a patron and the situation escalated after Ice rejected her advances. The rapper was then slapped and a melee broke out, which continued outside the restaurant.
Ice ended up getting into a separate argument with a male patron outside, which got physical and ended up with the rapper on the ground.
Ice Spice’s attorney told Billboard that they will be looking to “hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions.”
“The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all criminal and civil avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions,” Cohen stated. “We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their apparent lack of appropriate security.”
Spice’s attorney continued: “Not to mention that the individuals involved obviously did not realize that we would get the video from inside the McDonald’s where the unprovoked attack occurred. They then turned their cameras on after the initial attack as if to set our client up, and as they say on the video to ‘go viral.’ The only thing that will be going viral for them is their mugshots.”

Olivia Rodrigo is headed to Spain to rep Barça — and perform a one-night-only show for her most devoted fans.
The singer-songwriter is the latest artist to team up with FC Barcelona and Spotify, kicking off the partnership with the unveiling of her own blue and red striped jersey featuring Rodrigo’s logo on the front in place of Spotify’s. The announcement comes a little over a week before the the fútbol club’s El Clásico match at the newly-renovated Spotify Camp Nou, where the team will play against their rival, Real Madrid and feature Rodrigo’s jersey on the pitch.
The Blaugrana wear is also available to purchase via the Barça Official Stores in Spain and online in limited quantities as part of the Olivia Rodrigo Collection, which also includes a “Força Barça” t-shirt, hoodie, bucket hat, stickers and more.
Rodrigo and Spotify will also treat fans to an intimate, one-off concert in the Spanish city on May 8 celebrating “the fandom unique to Livies and the connected spirit which flows through the community,” according to a press release. The show will be invite-only for Rodrigo’s top fans — who will have the opportunity to attend based on their Spotify listening — and arrives a little over a month before Rodrigo drops her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love on June 12. Its lead single, “drop dead,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and is set to be performed by Rodrigo during her Saturday Night Live debut double-duty stint on May 2.
“Seeing ‘OR’ on a FC Barcelona jersey for El Clásico, I don’t even know how to process that. It’s been so fun seeing the jersey come to life and creating a full collection with Spotify and Barca,” Rodrigo said in the release. “On top of that, getting to perform for the fans who’ve been listening since day one, in a city like Barcelona, is going to be so special. That’s everything to me. I cannot wait to see them.”
While FC Barcelona will don Rodrigo’s jersey on the May 10 match, FC Barcelona Femení will be wearing the jersey in their Liga F match against Levante on May 6.
Over the past four years, Spotify has teamed up with FC Barcelona to create artist jerseys for Travis Scott, Coldplay, Karol G, Drake and more. So far, Rodrigo is the youngest artist to takeover the uniform. Watch the trailer above.
Dame Dash sat down with Art of Dialogue recently to talked about a variety of topics, one being the discographies of his former business partner Jay-Z (two co-founded Roc-A-Fella with Kareem Burke in 1994) and Ye (formerly known as Kanye West.)
When asked who has the better catalog, the Harlem businessman answered without hesitation that he would take Ye.
“Kanye destroys Jay,” he continued. “It’s not even the same class. You know what I mean? As far as artistry goes and being creative and all the verticals that are stimulated, and the people — no one wants to dress like — Jay can’t do a clothing line. Kanye has a movement, he’s unstoppable. Kanye don’t need nobody to fill an arena. You know, homeboy needs friends. This n—a just stands up there and just, he don’t even have to rap. He just does listening sessions in a stadium.”
Adding, “Kanye is different and he’s bipolar…He’s pure art. The world should be so grateful for Kanye’s presence because he keeps things so interesting. The world would be so boring without Kanye. It’s like Van Gogh. Like any minute he could cut his ear off while he’s painting, but it’s always art. Kanye is an artist. Jay’s not an artist…I would say Jay’s just more of a — he’s cunning, and he doesn’t mind playing with the devil.”
When asked to elaborate on what he meant by “cunning,” Dame continued by saying “[Jay-Z] will make you believe he’s your brother when he really hates you. That’s cunning to me.”
Later on in the clip he also claims that nobody cares about Jay’s debut album. “Reasonable Doubt doesn’t sell sh-t. Why you think I gave it away,” he said referring to New York State auctioning off Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Inc. shares to collect on his back taxes. “That sh-t barely went gold. Nobody gives a f—k about Reasonable Doubt other than people that were there.”

As if having Kid Cudi as a dad wasn’t cool enough, Cudder pulled a couple of strings so his daughter and her friends could see Taylor Swift in style on the Eras Tour.
Cudi had actor Adam Scott on as a guest of his Big Bro With Kid Cudi show earlier this week, which saw the Ohio native recall making a few calls to hook his teenage daughter, Vada Wamwene Mescudi, and her friends up to see Taylor Swift on tour.
The pop supernova came through in a major way, as Swift’s team rolled out the red carpet for Vada and her friends, who got the VIP treatment for an Eras Tour stop.
“My daughter’s a Swiftie,” Cudi explained. “She texted me one day, ‘Daddy, is it possible for you to get tickets for me and my friends to see Taylor Swift?’ I was just like, ‘Let me see what I can do.’ Taylor Swift had me looking like the coolest dad ever.”
He continued: “I hit up Taylor’s team. We were like, ‘Do you have any extra tickets?’ They gave us the friends-and-family tickets, so it was a good location in the stadium. I remember my daughter texted me back like, ‘Dad, you’re the best.’ I was just like, ‘Yeah, man!’ Thank you, Taylor Swift.”
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was one of the hottest tour tickets of the century. Across 149 shows spanning 2023 and 2024, Swift’s record-breaking trek grossed over $2 billion and sold more than 10 million tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore.
Perhaps Cudi could return the favor for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, with the “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper currently on the road for his 33-date Rebel Ragers Tour, which will make stops in Austin and Dallas this weekend.
