Riley Green is heading to The Voice.

The 37-year-old country star announced on social media Saturday (May 9) that he will join as a coach for season 30 of the NBC music competition series.

Related

Green shared the news ahead of his concert at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Saturday. He is currently on his Cowboy As It Gets arena tour across North America.

“I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall. @nbcthevoice #thevoice,” Green captioned the announcement on his Instagram account.

The “Worst Way” singer joins previously announced coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine for the upcoming season of The Voice, which airs this fall on NBC and streams on Peacock. Levine’s contestant, singer Alexia Jayy, was crowned the winner of Season 29 in April 2025.

Green’s announcement post features a clip of him listening to voicemail on his phone left by Clarkson, who politely greets him using her full name and addresses him by his.

“That is officially the last time we’re gonna use each other’s full name ’cause we’re not tools,” she says in the message, which has her welcoming him to The Voice. “But we’ve never officially met. I’m super stoked to coach alongside you.”

Clarkson also kindly tells him she’s a “superfan” in the message — a “big fan, but needless to say, fan and all it’s a competition.” So she’s sent him a special gift: his personalized The Voice coach chair, adorned with duck calls. “I think you’re gonna need the practice because Kelly’s gonna whoop that ass,” she quips.

Comments on Green’s post include a friendly congrats from host Carson Daly, who wrote, “Welcome to the fam!! Can’t wait to hang! You drink right? Pls God say yes.”

Green has been on a winning streak of his own. The singer-songwriter has scored four No. 1 hits on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart, including “Worst Way” and the Ella Langley collaboration “You Look Like You Love Me,” and has earned multiple CMA and ACM Awards to date.

He is also set to perform at the upcoming ACM Awards on May 17, where he is nominated for male artist of the year, album of the year [for Don’t Mind If I Do (Deluxe)], artist-songwriter of the year, and music event of the year for “Don’t Mind If I Do,” featuring Langley.

In April, Green made his acting debut on the CBS series Marshals, in which he plays Garrett, a former Navy SEAL who arrives in Montana while carrying personal demons he needs to put to rest.

The roster of recordings inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame always spans genres and generations, so it stands to reason that the annual Grammy Hall of Fame gala is a diverse and eclectic program.

The performances at the third annual gala, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday (May 8), ranged from Josh Groban singing “Brucia La Terra,” the Sicilian-language version of the lushly romantic love theme from The Godfather, to Funkadelic mastermind George Clinton, joined by Erykah Badu and the group’s guitarist Blackbyrd McKnight, performing “Maggot Brain” and “Can You Get to That,” the first two tracks from the group’s 1971 album, Maggot Brain.

Broadcast journalist Anthony Mason once again hosted the event. Fourteen recordings were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, though only seven were spotlighted with live performances.

Heart, Lucinda Williams and Clinton each performed songs from their classic albums that were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, while in other cases, artists covered songs that were inducted. Take 6 performed the Soul Stirrers’ 1951 gospel classic “Jesus Gave Me Water.” Taylor Hanson performed Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon,” the title track from his 1972 album. Isabel Marie performed Selena’s “No Me Queda Mas” from her 1994 album, Amor Prohibido.

In addition, Norah Jones performed a two-song set as she received the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award, and Teddy Swims and Groban each performed two songs as part of a tribute to Warner Records, this year’s label honoree.

Other inducted recordings, not otherwise mentioned in this report, were: 2Pac‘s All Eyez on Me, Radiohead’s OK Computer, Eric B. & Rakim’s Paid in Full, Alice Coltrane’s Journey in Satchidanada, The Rouse Brothers’ “Orange Blossom Special” and Bertha “Chippie” Hill’s “Trouble in Mind.”

The show was produced by former Grammy Awards executive producer Ken Ehrlich, alongside Ron Basile, Chantel Sausedo and Lynne Sheridan, with musical direction by Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning composer, producer and conductor Cheche Alara.

Here are eight highlights from the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala.

6ix9ine is stirring up controversy once again, this time over comments about his girlfriend’s pregnancy.

The 30-year-old rapper (real name Daniel Hernandez, formerly known as Tekashi 6ix9ine) made the remarks during an unborn child’s gender reveal party, telling a group of streamers that the pregnancy would be terminated if the baby is a girl.

Related

“If it’s not a boy, it’s an a-bor-tion,” 6ix9ine says in a clip from a livestream at the event, shared by TMZ.

The streamers — Adin Ross, Clavicular and N3ON — appear noticeably caught off guard, awkwardly laughing off the comment before 6ix9ine leads them over to his girlfriend, Aliday Alter. The streamers then ask Alter what gender she thinks the baby is, and she laughs, saying it’s a girl. 6ix9ine then doubles down on his abortion claims, saying she is in agreement.

“She’s down,” the rapper says. “She’s open-minded.”

Luckily, it was later revealed during the party that the couple is expecting a baby boy.

Alter first shared news of her pregnancy in April, posting a photo of herself on the beach in a cheetah print dress that showed off her baby bump. She and 6ix9ine have been dating for about a year, according to TMZ.

“My world is about to change,” she wrote on Instagram.

6ix9ine is already reportedly a father to a 12-year-old daughter with ex-girlfriend Sara Molina, as well as another daughter, 7, with Marlayna M.

In January, 6ix9ine turned himself in to begin a three-month sentence for violating the terms of his supervised release tied to his racketeering case. The Brooklyn native was found with cocaine and MDMA and also admitted to assaulting a man who allegedly taunted him about cooperating with authorities during a trip to a Florida mall.

Charli xcx can’t get her mind off of someone, and even humors the thought “maybe I could be gay,” on “I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” a song added as the B-side of “Rock Music” on vinyl.

Related

“I’m probably not,” she sings while cheekily pondering her sexuality on the new track, but adds, “I’ve always wondered if you were actually gay/ Or if that’s somеthing you just say for your career.”

Maybe Charli doesn’t want her unnamed muse, but wants to be her? “I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” set to minimalist production and a fleeting 1:32 runtime — and a black-and-white video shot in Kyoto, Japan, on one handheld camera acting as voyeur to Charli sensually ascending a stairwell and rolling around a dance studio floor — opens with a lyric referencing experimental art of the mid-century French New Wave movement: “Maybe we could become each other/ Like somethin’ out of a Jacques Rivette movie or somethin’.”

Hazy as the root (and object) of her obsession is, Charli — who in her current real life is married to George Daniel of The 1975 — gets direct to the point, on repeat, by the chorus: “I keep thinkin’ ’bout you, every single day/ I keep thinkin’ ’bout you, еvery single night.”

The track was announced on Instagram on Saturday (May 8), the day after Charli debuted new single “Rock Music.” The artist posted it on @b.sides, her side account where she puts behind-the-scenes bits that don’t make it to main.

“i keep on thinking bout you every single day and night’ the b side to rock music. i went to kyoto for six weeks to shoot a film. while we were there, i made this video with aidan. only available on vinyl & here on b.sides. so rip the audio if you want it xx,” Charli wrote to fans via @b.sides on Saturday.

At press time, the just-listed “Rock Music” 7″ is sold out on Charli’s official webstore. The product page does offer the names of record stores in the U.S., U.K. and France receiving limited quantities of the vinyl release.

As it’s not available on any music streaming services, right now Charli’s “I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night” can only officially be heard by watching her video on Instragram below.

From career milestones to new music releases to major announcements and those little important moments, Billboard editors highlight uplifting moments in Latin music. Here’s what happened in the Latin music world this week.

CUNY Celebrates Mexican-American Graduates with Peso Pluma as Guest Speaker

The City University of New York (CUNY) held its first-ever systemwide Mexican-American graduation ceremony on Saturday (May 2) at the Lehman College Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx, with special guest and class padrino Peso Pluma. Organized by the CUNY Mexican Studies Institute with student input and led by Dr. Lizbeth de la Cruz Santana, assistant professor of Black and Latino Studies, the event celebrated the achievements and cultural identity of nearly 200 graduates from 14 CUNY institutions.

“This graduation marked a historic milestone as the first CUNY-wide commencement dedicated to honoring Mexican-American students and their families,” Dr. De La Cruz Santana tells Billboard Español. “Inviting Peso Pluma reflected a broader effort to celebrate the contributions of Mexican and Mexican-American communities across New York City and the United States.”

Dr. De La Cruz Santana also underscored the event’s grounding in the struggle for educational equity: “For decades, Mexican-American students faced segregation and unequal schooling in states like California, Texas, and Arizona. Landmark moments like Mendez v. Westminster and the East Los Angeles Walkouts demanded access, dignity, and representation.”

The Mexican superstar’s surprise appearance moved students and their families. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw him walk out!,” shared graduate Rachelle Campos-Suarez. “To witness such a historic moment for our community, our culture, and future generations was very emotional and unforgettable.”

“This celebration did not only honor the graduates but our parents and many others that helped and accompanied us along the way,” added alumni and student organizer Michelle Cruz. “It is also serves as a statement for spaces like the higher education systems that says ‘We belong here too.’”

Venezuelan Singer Opens His Own Art Exhibition in Venice

Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist Eduardo Galán — featured as a musician in our On the Radar Latin column in October 2022 — reached a new milestone this week, this time as a visual artist, by inaugurating his own art exhibition in Venice, Italy. Titled The Circle of Love, the show opened its doors on May 6 at the Kokonton Gallery, coinciding with the preview of the 61st Venice Art Biennale.

“This body of work explores the relationship between time, transformation, and that which endures. Through materials such as cement, Japanese paper, and 24k gold, I sought to create works that feel both fragile and eternal at the same time — deeply inspired by the textures, scars, and beauty of Venice,” Galán tells Billboard Español. “For me, this exhibition represents something deeply personal: the moment when music, painting, and life finally began to speak the same language.”

The show will remain open until May 24. — SIGAL RATNER-ARIAS

Puerto Rico’s Coca-Cola Music Hall Goes Phone-Free, Letting Fans Unplug

Coca-Cola Music Hall made history as the first venue in Puerto Rico to implement a phone-free system during comedian Marcello Hernández’s performance last month. The concept allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the live experience by eliminating cell phone usage in the main hall. The system was utilized again on Friday (May 8) for actor and comedian Chris Tucker’s show.

“This type of experience is designed to allow the audience to fully enjoy the show, keeping their attention on the stage and ensuring that the content is exclusively for those who purchased tickets to the event,” said Arleene Pérez, general manager of the Coca-Cola Music Hall, in a press release.

Attendees are required to secure their phones and smart devices in special locked pouches upon entry and can only access them in designated areas. Despite initial concerns, the rollout during Hernández’s show ran smoothly. “The audience quickly adapted to the system, and we had no issues,” added Pérez. “On the first night, the turnaround time for attendees to receive their phones was 16 minutes, and on the second night it was 13 minutes.”

Five years after touching the Rolling Loud stage, Don Toliver returned as the headliner for night one of Rolling Loud Orlando on Friday (May 8).

Toliver used Rolling Loud as the launchpad for his anticipated Octane Tour, which will invade North American arenas into the summer.

A torrential downpour drenched Camping World Stadium’s fields about an hour before the Cactus Jack artist took the stage around 9:45 p.m. ET, which saw Toliver emerge from the smoke, tree foliage and plants that replaced EsDeeKid’s castle for a more Rainforest Cafe-themed set-up.

Courtesy of Rolling Loud/Respective Collective

Rocking his usual dove white jacket with matching pants courtesy of designer Dingyun Zhang, Toliver debuted a new mask to open his set, which he ditched along with the jacket for an Octane Mountain T-shirt.

Sixty-thousand fans in Orlando were sent directly into a frenzy when the snappy synths of “E85” blared through the festival stage’s speakers to kick off the set. The Octane opener has remained inside the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40 (currently No. 35) since the album’s arrival in late January.

“Open that s—t up!” Toliver instructed the crowd ahead of “Opposite.” He turned the energy up a few notches as drinks flew through the air, while millennial and Gen-Z bodies collided in sweaty moshpits.

Octane cuts “Call Back,” “Gemstone,” “ATM” and “Body” followed as fans belted lyrics back at Toliver. It’s a testament to the rap album of the year candidate’s staying power, which has remained inside the Billboard 200’s top 10 since January, while A-listers J. Cole and A$AP Rocky’s 2026 projects have departed from the top 100.

The Houston native took it back to fan-favorite cuts like “Cardigan” and his breakout assist on Astroworld‘s “Can’t Say” before delivering the surprise of the night when YEAT joined Toliver on stage. The frequent collaborators performed Octane‘s starry “Rendezvous” and YEAT enjoyed a solo moment with 2025’s “Comë n Go.”

The slow burn of “No Pole” has turned into a catalog hit for Toliver, while he leaned into the Dr. Nefario memes that spawned from his 2024 Rolling Loud performance of “Too Many Nights,” as Don hit dance moves on stage that look more like Fortnite emotes.

The 31-year-old closed out with a strong run of greatest hits that included Internet Money’s “Lemonade,” “BANDIT” and Heaven or Hell‘s “After Party.” “I want you to sing this s—t with me. This the drive,” Toliver said, as he couldn’t leave without running back “E85,” which opened the high-energy set.

Footage emerged earlier on Friday of Toliver being detained, and he closed the loop on that speculation by previewing the “E85” music video on the jumbotrons, which finds him getting arrested following a high-speed chase in his Porsche and in an interrogation room. The clip should receive an official release soon.

Rap’s A-list will need to make room for one more, as Don Toliver’s stellar first half of 2026 has cemented him as part of the crew. Toliver’s unique blend of psychedelic trap can’t be duplicated by anyone in hip-hop or R&B at the moment, and he might find even more peers he once looked up to in his rear-view mirrors.

Olivia Rodrigo kicked off El Clásico with a concert to remember for her biggest fans — and featuring her biggest hits.

On the slope of Montjuïc mountain in Barcelona, Teatre Grec was completely transformed for Rodrigo’s very own Spotify Billions Club Live concert. Upon arrival, guests were greeted not only to a picturesque outdoor amphitheater reminiscent of Ancient Greece, but also lush landscapes completely decked out to celebrate her achievements both on the streaming platform and in honor of her new partnership with FC Barcelona ahead of the big match. On the grounds outside of the bowl were merch stands for the football collab, access to free food and drinks and even a major photo moment with all nine of Rodrigo’s Billions Club plaques.

Beyond the atmosphere, the show itself was absolutely electric. Following similar sets by Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus and more, Rodrigo performed almost all her songs with over a billion streams on Spotify, plus a few others, that all had the crowd singing their hearts out. The free show was reserved for about 1,500 of the most devoted Livies, with invites going out to her top fans in the area “selected through their listening on Spotify,” according to an early press release.

It all went down just two days before rivals FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will go head-to-head at the recently-renovated Spotify Camp Nou, where Barça could be crowned league champions if they take home the win. There, FCB players will also be wearing an exclusive version of their iconic blaugrana jersey with Rodrigo’s logo in place of Spotify’s.

A celebration of Rodrigo’s biggest hits almost feels too soon, considering her big break was barely five years ago. But it was a night well-deserved, with the pop star giving it her all and the crowd giving back just as much.
