Alabama Shakes have lined up a string of North American and European tour dates for 2026. After releasing a No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart last year with “Another Life,” Brittany Howard and the band are headed back to the live stage for a spring and summer run of concerts. Although the PlayStation 5 was released a few years ago in Nov. 2020, Sony has recently announced an upcoming price increase to the company’s flagship gaming console line, including the PS5 with Disc Drive, PS5 Digital Edition, PS5 Pro and PlayStation Portal. Starting on April 2, each product will see at least a $100 price rise due to global economic pressures, so if you’ve been on the fence about upgrading to the current PS5 generation, there’s no better time to buy the gaming console before it gets even more expensive.

If you aren’t familiar, on-ear headphones are styles that feature earcups that rest directly on the ear cartilage, rather than over them like over-the-ear headphones or inside the ear canal like in-ear earbuds.
This design is rather niche, as opposed to the other styles mentioned, and are best utilized for commuting, travel and extended use. On-ear headphones offer good audio performance and are meant to ensure an overall more comfortable fit than the other models, though everyone’s ears are different. As you’ll see throughout my review, on-ear headphones are also very portable and provide great call clarity, especially when tested against their in-ear and over-ear counterparts. In short, the style is meant to cater to those looking for specific functions rather than being “better” than other models.

One major thing to note is that a bunch of on-ear styles lack ANC, or Active Noise Canceling. This is because these headphones sit on top of the ear, as the name suggests, making for poor passive isolation. This makes effective ANC difficult, because ANC benefits from a consistent seal on the ear to block out noise. For this reason, you’ll only see two models on this list with ANC. These specific models have good ANC but aren’t made specifically for noise-canceling functionality.
Here’s what I looked for while on my search for my top five picks. I wanted something lightweight, comfortable and portable ( i.e. foldable or equipped with a carrying case). I wanted something with a balance between good sound quality and environmental awareness. As far as my qualifications go, I love music and great audio, and I have always favored headphones rather than earbuds for comfort and quality sake.
With this in mind, I tested these five headphones out as a commuter in New York, an on-ear model’s natural habitat of sorts, so that I could give our readers the most honest review possible. Through rain and some unseasonal snow flurries, I present to you my favorite on-ear styles that made my 50-minute commute a little more bearable.
BEST SOUND QUALITY
Beats Solo 4 in Cloud Pink
Pros: Inventive colors, Announce Notifications feature, snug fit, sale price, 50-hour battery life, adjustable fit, foldable design
Cons: No ANC, tricky pairing, snug fit
Beats’ Solo 4 was one of the first on-ear styles I tested and I was pleasantly surprised. For starters, the colors available are extremely stylish, varying from light Cloud Pink hues (my favorite) to complex Slate Blues. I wore these while working and walking around the office and can confidently say these fit snugly and won’t budge.
Of course, you can adjust the fit of your Solo 4 based on the shape of your head and desired tightness. I never felt like they’d slip or falter, even when I was running to catch my train post-work day. That said, the snugness could be a con for some. That’s one of the beauties of on-ear styles. They sit on the user’s ear rather than around it, creating a seal of sorts so there’s less of a chance that your headphones will flatter or slip.
Since the Solo 4 is an on-ear style, more ambient sound was let in, which was great for my commute so I could be more aware of my surroundings in the city. Speaking of, the audio was clear and crisp, especially for calls that I took a lot during my testing period. Again, because the Solo 4 is on-ear, you don’t have Active Noise Cancelling or ANC, so if that’s something you’re looking for in headphones, on-ear models might not be for you.
As far as specs go, I loved the Announce Notifications aspect that reads out notifications, which allowed me to focus on what was around me instead of checking in on who was texting me. Some major wins for the Solo 4 are the battery life of 50 hours and the compact foldable design that fit snugly in the accompanying case for portability.
MOST STYLISH
Marshall Major V
Pros: Vintage-inspired design, neutral colors, easy pairing, soft ear cups for a gentle fit, adjustable, 100+ hours of playtime, signature sound
Cons: Lack of ANC, no IP Rating or water-resistance rating, no carrying case
As far as on-ear models go, Marshall’s Major V is the most stylish of the bunch. As a lover of fashionable tech, this scratched an itch for me with the vintage-inspired design and gold accents. I chose brown, going out of my comfort zone for a headphone colorway I wouldn’t normally choose. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the tone; this espresso brown with contrasting Marshall logo detailing. It’s a sophisticated piece of tech with uncomplicated functionality.
You’ve got an M button on the side that allows users to instantly access Spotify or your default music streaming service, access to your EQ settings (volume, frequency ranges etc) and a voice assistant. I used this feature often if I didn’t want to scroll through my phone to manually play another song or change up the volume. The 100+ hours of playtime isn’t too shabby, especially when compared to the other on-ear models on our list. The Major V was also extremely comfortable, even after hours of wear. This is thanks to the amply padded ear cups that gently sat on my ears rather than smothering them.
As mentioned with the Solo 4, the Major V has no ANC, which is common for lots of on-ear styles, so no biggie there. It also has no rating for water-resistance/ they haven’t been officially rated, meaning these won’t fare well if you’re sweating profusely during a workout or if you’re caught out in heavy rain. That being said, we’re testing these for everyday usage and they hold up perfectly fine.
BEST SOUND
JLab Go Lux On-Ear Headphones
Pros: Affordable, Foldable design, clearly label buttons for ANC and “Be Aware” modes, volume and Bluetooth, unique padded headphone cushions with pillow soft comfort, 70 hour battery life without ANC, subdued and unique design
Cons: Padded headband can feel a little tight after extended wear, would like to see a carrying case
Headphones have become extremely expensive over the years, which is why I wanted to include these JLab Go Lux headphones. Retailing for $34.99, this on-ear style gave me everything I needed both audio and comfort-wise, which is exactly what I wanted out of my on-ear testing. On-ear headphones are supposed to offer good sound quality, which this JLab style has, and provide environmental awareness which these also have.
The connectivity via Bluetooth was flawless, pairing right back up even when I was separated from my phone for an extended time. It was easy to navigate all the special features this JLab model has to offer thanks to an easy to read button with symbols that clearly stated their function. These headphones are very comfortable, especially the headphone cushions which are neatly labeled “right” and “left” for ease of use. The headband could be a tad tight at times but with a little adjusting, I felt almost nothing on my head.
A lot of these headphones come with a carrying case, which I liked to keep in my bag for aesthetics and organization sake. This JLab style did not unfortunately, which is something I’d love to see JLab incorporate for this on-ear model in the future. I will give the lack of carrying case a pass however, because of their affordability.

Right out of the box, I can say with confidence that the JBL Live 680NC are headphones I will reach for again, even after testing. This on-ear model is extremely comfortable thanks to the extra cushy padding throughout, especially on the headphone cushions, which perch nicely on my ears even when I am wearing earrings. The fit is adjustable, like most, if not all, headphones, giving you that tailored feel. These are on the heavier side compared to the others on this list, although that didn’t bother me.
Feel aside, these headphones have ANC and Awareness/Spatial Audio modes, which, as previously mentioned, are not always available for on-ear styles. The ANC is pretty powerful, drowning out the sirens and car horns that seem to be a constant in the backdrop of my already noisy office. With the tap of a button, I was able to switch off ANC, allowing noise in, a dull murmur that allowed me to talk, listen to my coworkers and converse without issue. I tend to listen to
I will note that I am not used to touch-sensitive controls on my headphones, as I prefer the control I get with buttons. For that reason, it was tricky for me to get a handle on where I should be touching, but that should be no problem for most. It’s a high-tech feature I appreciate aesthetically, but when it comes down to preference, I am a button girl all the way.
Speaking of buttons, the Bluetooth connectivity was simple and fast. I also struggled with switching it on since the mechanism is more of a slider. For practicality’s sake, I prefer a button, but once I understood the controls fully, it wasn’t an issue and didn’t hinder my listening experience whatsoever.

Out of all the on-ear styles I’ve tested, the Skullcandy Icon ANC is the most user-friendly model. Upon opening the box, I was greeted with an easy-to-understand control cardstock. In just three steps, I was using these headphones without much effort. I wasn’t fumbling around at any point to get this style going. Powering the model on, connecting it via Bluetooth and turning up the sound was fast and easy, which was a major plus given I had to test out four other headphones in succession over the span of a month.
Speaking of sound, these headphones can be a bit flat out of the box, making audio a little dull. That being said, I was able to make my own sound customization via the tech’s EQ settings and found that with my changes, the bass was nice and punchy and the sound was more colorful and balanced. In short, I encourage users to play around with their settings to get the audio they crave from this style.
Something that seemed mundane upon opening, but really changed the game throughout my usage of this style was the buttons. I specifically loved being able to easily call up my Siri or change the volume up with a joystick-esque control that felt natural and fun to use, rather than a standard click of a button. Plus, these buttons have audio cues that are extremely satisfying to hear accompanying each touch.
This is yet another on-ear model with ANC and stay aware mode. As mentioned, both of these modes, but specifically ANC, aren’t the main focus of on-ear styles. That being said, the ANC is pretty great, quieting my bustling office with the tap of a button. Even with sirens blaring and the noise of the city, things were nice and quiet with my headphones on. As mentioned, I’d point to this style for those looking for user-friendly models that are easy to use and also happen to be really affordable at $99.99.

What makes a good laptop bag?
Funnily enough, that question was brought to the table in my office this past week when a co-worker accidentally spilled a whole cup of coffee into her bag, swiftly compromising her beloved laptop. While it happens to the best of us (it’s happened to me twice), this painful set of events could be prevented if one were equipped with a proper laptop bag.

So I ask again: What makes a good laptop bag? Is it style? How about function? What about durability? I’d argue it’s all of the above. Something that stands the test of time against wear and tear, something with multifunctionality that can seemingly do it all and something that not only aces those two facets, but does so fashionably. Does such a bag exist? I aim to answer all of these questions with my review on six laptop bags.
Within my workweek, I took these bags through my harrowing New York City commute through many transfers, rain, sleet and, yes, even coffee spillage, to the office. The goal? To try and weigh out the pros and cons, giving our readers a shot at getting a laptop bag that will best work for their needs. For reference, my laptop is around 13 inches. I tested a range of bags that vary in price and style in hopes of understanding the wide breath of bags out there. I also couldn’t help but decorate these bags with plenty of bag charms, something that also informed choosing my favorite styles. Below, you can shop some of my favorites and how they compare to one another in price, style, durability, comfortability and more.
Our 5 Favorite Laptop Bags
Kaslo Tote Tech – 23L
Pros: Easy to clean polyester, hefty interior, ample shoulder straps, ample interior compartments
Cons: Polyester fabric is very slick leading to slippage off the shoulder, limited colors, the laptop sleeve is the smallest we’ve seen at 11.5 inches.
Herschel Supply Co.’s Kaslo Tote Tech – 23L offering is one of my personal favorites as someone who was looking into a shoulder bag style of laptop bag. I opted for the Ash Rose Tonal hue, an all-over blush colorway that is more colorful than most of the offerings on our list. That being said, the Kaslo Tote only comes in four colorways, with two distinctly colorful styles while the other two are more neutral.
If you’re seeking a more maximalist bag, then we’d suggest something like the Lefrik Handy Backpack, also on our list. Colorway aside, this bag is extremely stylish with a rectangular composition and sizable shoulder straps that easily slip on and off overtop even my bulkiest coats. The tote is made of 100% recycled 600D polyester that can stain if you aren’t careful. I’m very prone to spilling, so I tend to take fabric composition into consideration when buying most things, including laptop bags. On the outside, there’s a sleeve to slip the handle of your suitcase into, allowing you to set your bag atop your suitcase for hands-free travel.
The interior of the bag is extremely roomy with lots of compartments. These compartments are big enough to carry a gallon water bottle (nestled inside the dedicated water bottle compartment). I stored my laptop in the designated laptop pocket measuring 11.5 ” (H) x 15 ” (W), which is big enough to fit most modern laptops; however, it is the smallest sleeve I’ve seen on a bag while testing. That being said, my 13-inch laptop fit just fine.
All the compartments helped me stay organized, putting every item in its place for easy access so I didn’t have to fish around for my belongings. The top of your tote zips up, keeping your belongings safe from those with sticky fingers or damage from unfortunate but inevitable spills. For $120, you’re getting a reliable, easy to clean and storage-focused tote that is optimal for work or travel.
Meridian Landspeeder Modular Backpack
Pros: Multiple water bottle sleeves, lots of pockets, waterproofed, carabiner clip for keys, quick access pockets, ample compartments, padded laptop sleeve top entry
Cons: Bulkier than most thanks to the water bottle compartments, least affordable option
While I am not much of an outdoorsy person, this laptop bag from Mission Workshop made me want to brave the elements with my laptop in tow. First and foremost, I am not usually a backpack person because I have pretty bad back problems; however, I didn’t find this bag irritating my back whatsoever, which was nice.
The bag is made of Challenge EPX 200, which, from my research, I found was a 100% recycled polyester fabric. The material is ultra-light and made waterproof thanks to Mission Workshop’s lightweight TPU-coated ripstop, a detail I appreciated as a chronic spiller. My laptop was in good hands, especially when considering the designated laptop sleeve is padded to prevent damage from impact or from the elements. What’s more? All the seams, zippers and compartments of the main bag are constructed for maximum weather resistance, so whether you’re heading to work on a particularly rainy day or hiking out in the snow, your belongings are protected.
The bag is equipped with tons of intuitive features like a carabiner clip to store keys, a quick-access pocket on the front for storing important documents like a passport or wallet. The specific bag I chose came with two water bottle packs on either side that, while extremely nifty, could make the bag a bit bulky, especially when traversing the crowded New York subway. That being said, I loved being able to access my bottles easily with a quick reach behind me. I’d recommend this model for the outdoorsy type looking to answer emails surrounded by nature. This is less of a work bag and more of an adventure accessory with a really great laptop sleeve.
Knack Convertible Dufflel Backpack
Pros: Ample pockets/compartments, over-the-shoulder/crossbody and backpack wear, hidden expansion compartment, 15.6 inch padded laptop sleeve
Cons: Can be too bulky for subway commute, duffle style made for travel more than commuting, only one color option
This is one of the heftier picks on my list that I was excited to test out, especially for long travel days. This Knack bag was put to good use both during my commute and on a recent excursion to San Diego, proving to be a grand addition to my carry on. This is a duffle style that can be worn crossbody or carried similar to a briefcase on its side or from the top.
Of course, there is a padded laptop sleeve measuring up to 15.6 inches, which leaves plenty of room for a standard laptop. This Knack pick had a ton of room with the most pockets I’ve seen on any bag. There are zip-up compartments galore, some big enough to pack clothes and toiletries in for my impromptu vacation. If all that space wasn’t enough, you’ve also got a hidden expansion compartment that I personally used to pack the extra shopping I did while in Cali.
When it came to wearing this on my commute into the city, I did notice that it could be a bit bulky at times, especially on crowded subways packed together like sardines. That being said, if you pack strategically and don’t pack your whole life into your work bag like me, this duffle lays rather flat on the body. We’d suggest people invest in this bag for long travel days or hefty commutes to the office. It’s roomy enough to carry an abundance of items. You can also put bag charms on it to beautify if you choose, which is a major plus in my book.
Nomatic Laptop Bag
Pros: Crossbody carry, multiple compartments, expandable design, 16 inch padded laptop compartment, travel friendly with hidden magnetic passport pocket, and lockable zippers, zip-out water bottle pocket, detachable shoulder strap
Cons: Two colors, less focus on style and more focus on function
Sleek, compact and chock-full of compartments, this Nomatic laptop bag is what I’d like to dub the everyday bag. When you think of a laptop bag, this is probably what comes to mind. I like this model because it is not too big, can be worn crossbody and toted around via the handles on the top, and it comes with a couple of roomy pockets that keep the wearer organized. The laptop sleeve is around 16 inches, plenty of room for my 13 inch laptop.
The bag is made out of a unique blend of 80% nylon and 20% polyester, which makes this bag water-resistant, preventing devastating spills, of which I had a few while testing this bag out. Thankfully, though, my laptop and other belongings were perfectly safe. One of my favorite features had to be the front-facing water bottle pocket that zips up neatly, keeping your water bottle safe and secure in a pouch of its very own. Something I never thought of that would come in handy, especially while traveling, is this bag’s magnetic passport pocket that protects the wearer from those with sticky fingers.
There are only two colors of this laptop bag, which may not be an issue for most, especially in a workplace setting, if you’re looking for something minimalist and subdued. Many people in my life can attest to my colorful clown-adjacent dressing so, speaking for the maximalists out there, I would love to see more colorways.
The size of this laptop case was manageable and extremely comfortable over the shoulder. I never felt like I was schlepping the bag around or breaking my back to manage. I also adore the affordability of this piece at $135.99, 20% off right now. If you’re searching for a beginner-friendly laptop bag, or you’re in the market for something standard and reliable that does the job and does it well, this Nomatic bag should be your first choice.
Luka Expandable Laptop Tote in Metallic Indigo
Pros: Super stylish, expandable style, multiple colors, comfy on shoulder, 15 inch padded laptop sleeve, lightweight, suitcase sleeve
Cons: Only one way to wear, not fully waterproof
I have to say this laptop bag from Calpak surprised me. I knew I would love it stylistically. That bluish metallic gray hue and that puffy texture called my name as I was searching for a product to test. The Luka is your standard tote composition with top handles that are long enough to loop over your shoulder, even with a bulky winter jacket on. I never had to fight to keep this bag up, something that is a constant issue for me as a person with sloping shoulders.
The Calpak offering is super stylish with 18 different colorways. I was spoiled for options when picking, and I am still thinking about that pink blossom hue as I am typing this. While you’d think a “puffy” laptop bag like this would collapse in on itself, I was pleased to note that the bag kept its structure, even without my laptop stored inside. The bottom is expandable for more room overall and sturdy, which likely contributes to its sturdiness. Speaking of laptops, this bag also has a dedicated padded sleeve measuring 15 inches. Throughout my testing, I came to appreciate that this bag, and most other ones I tried, has a zipper closure on the laptop sleeve that keeps it safe from spills and pit pocketers.
A favorite feature of mine has to be the sleeve for a suitcase handle to go through affixed to the back of the laptop bag, also seen on the Herschel Supply Co. style. This feature certainly allowed for hands-free travel. I tested it on my very own carry on and was surprised to see that the bag stayed in place, even on the bumpiest of roads. Unlike the other laptop bags I tested, this was one of two that could only be worn over-the-shoulder. The fabric is also not fully waterproof, which became a concern when I spilled my water bottle beside it out of sheer clumsiness. Thankfully, all was well.

“Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!” After more than 50 seasons of TV, Saturday Night Live expands outside of the United States to England with Saturday Night Live UK. The new sketch comedy show has tapped Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan to host, while English rock band Wolf Alice is set to perform as musical guest.
Although SNL UK broadcasts live on Saturday, March 28 at 10 p.m. GMT on British broadcaster Sky UK, it drops in the United States the following day on Sunday, March 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Peacock.

Bad Bunny’s new Adidas sneaker collaboration is one fans have been itching for.
The market for the “NUEVAYoL” singer’s footwear collaboration is insane, with his past Adidas silhouettes selling out mere minutes post-release. We’re willing to bet that this new BADBO 1.0 model is going to be a hit as well, because it expands upon his collaborative line by introducing a versatile colorway not previously seen before. The shoe retails for $160 and dropped Saturday (March 28). It is available to shop on the Adidas website now.
Like his first Adidas BADBO 1.0, this style is chunky and high-top-esque. Departing from the monochrome colorscheme, this shoe comes in black and beige, a stylish and wearable option with pops of blue throughout. The shoe features textural suede paneling, an EVA midsole that makes the soles flexible and cushioned, and a unique translucent rubber outsole.
Bad Bunny x Adidas BADBO 1.0
A new Adidas footwear collaboration with Bad Bunny. The style features suede panelling and a black, white and taupe color scheme.
Harkening back to the musician’s Puerto Rican roots is the BadBo signature logo — a star affixed to each heel — drawing direct inspiration from the Puerto Rican flag. According to Adidas, the design choice “symbolizes origin, joy and the limitless possibilities that come from staying true to where you’re from.”
Along with the shoe drop, Adidas and Bad Bunny also collaborated on an accompanying BadBo apparel capsule that includes pieces such as track jackets, sweatshirts, sweatsuits, hats and more, all inspired by Benito’s personal style. Our favorite has to be the comfy sweatsuit, which offers the perfect mix of style and function. Like the shoes, the apparel collection went live on March 28.
Bad Bunny Heavy Crew Neck & Hooded Balaclava Sweatshirt
This is a gray crew neck sweatshirt with Adidas’ three-striped detailing throughout. The hoodie has a unique handkerchief construction on the front.
Bad Bunny Tapered Heavy Sweat Pant
These are gray slouchy sweatpants with Adidas’ iconic three stripes on the sides. The pants have a drawstring closure and a comfy composition.
The first iteration of the Adidas BadBo 1.0, a cream color scheme with pops of blue, sold out in the blink of an eye. Resellers on Farfetch, Stadium Goods, Fight Club and Goat have the shoe marked up for up to $230, a hefty jump in price from its original listing of $160. Bad Bunny wore these shoes during his 2026 Super Bowl performance, reigniting the hype around the style.
